About Carcross Desert
Often called the smallest desert in the world, though too wet to be a true desert. The dunes are remnants of a glacial lake bed left after the last ice age. Wind off Bennett Lake keeps the sand moving. Rare plants such as Baikal sedge grow here. Lies on the Klondike Highway near the village of Carcross.
