About Nullarbor Plain
The worlds largest single exposure of limestone bedrock, a flat and almost treeless plain. Its name is Latin for no tree. The Trans-Australian Railway crosses it on a 478 km straight, the longest straight stretch of railway in the world. Extensive caves lie beneath the surface. The Bunda Cliffs mark its edge on the Great Australian Bight.
